About me
Joseph Pelletier is a traditional Michif (Métis) man who was born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan in 1961. Joseph is the youngest of 12 children, his father, Jim and mother, Delia, were both Michif people. His family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where Joseph attended Catholic schools. He went through the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher
Education Program (SUNTEP) at the University of Saskatchewan. Joseph worked for the Regina Catholic School Division and taught Native Studies at Miller Comprehensive High School in Regina for 28 years. In addition to his teaching career, Joseph has been involved in various advisory roles through committee work, curriculum development, departmental
exam development and evaluation. Today, Joseph remains guided by his faith, traditional Michif values/beliefs and worldview and is still willing to help and serve his community.
