About me
Amber Andersen (she/her) is a Community Development Consultant with South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District, whose mission is to provide capacity building to communities within the southeast district comprised of 72 urban municipalities, eight bands, and two cities in Treaty 2 and 4 territories. A recent addition to the staff, she has over 15 years of experience working as a Curator and Director in rural, regional art galleries and museums, where she was responsible for program strategy, operational oversight, and project management. She has served as a mentor in the Canadian Artists’ Representation/Le Front Des Artistes Canadiens (CARFAC) SK mentorship program, served and volunteered on numerous juries and board of directors, and served as a consultant for rural arts-based initiatives. Her passion lies in developing and expanding accessibility to culture within rural communities. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Regina and her Master of Fine Arts from York University.
